Value of bitcoin rises to USD 17,000 a piece
What is Bitcoin? That is a question that many Kenyans are asking today given how fast its value has risen. It is a digital currency whose value was 1.75 million Shillings this morning, or 17,000 U.S. Dollars, but has since dropped to 1.49 million shillings. A lot of people are either rushing to invest in them or wondering if they should, but some analysts are calling it a get rich quick scheme whose bubble is likely to burst soon.

Bitcoin hits new high as value now at $18,000 a piece
The price of one Bitcoin has surged yet again to cross the 18,000 U.S.-Dollar mark on the back of the launch of trading at the Chicago Board Options Exchange on Sunday evening.
The price of the digital currency rose sharply in the run-up to its debut at the CBOE futures exchange.
